Week 6, Contemplative

Pyramid for commuters

I started out for the day thinking of a specific location and view in the St Henri metro station. I did in fact take a bunch of shots of the inverted triangle window just above these bricks. But then, in the spirit of being "stuck in place", I stayed there and started looking more at the surroundings. This r a low-key view of the yellow bricks and angled walls below the window.

IMHO photography can become a contemplative e when we stop long enough to really observe our surroundings.

Dallas Arboretum, what a challenge to get a longer focal length and keep everything in focus. I do like how this one turned out, but I had many that went in the trash.

This is one of those quickie snapshots Ricky talked about in this week's video. I used the facetune app to remove the wrinkles the sun made on my right cheek, and the built in functions to add a vignette, convert to black and white.

A snow day can be far from contemplative. But when it's calm and the temps are mild, there is magic. This is in our garden. Apparently the delicate snow blew off the stones. Edited with some clarity reduction.

I wanted to find some color with the leaves which is challenging in the winter. The Nandina's definitely  give that opportunity with their dark burgundy/red tones.

I lost track of where I went with this in Topaz...we have had a very mild winter in northern Vermont. A few days ago we were without snow! We got a couple of inches and it is snowing now but turning to rain tonight. I took advantage of the snow and went out to get my photo before it's all gone. Not easy to see what you're doing with your glasses fogged up!
