We were asked to take photos at a very casual wedding. Trees are my usuals not people. When I saw this darling flower girl twirling, I just started clicking. She was just so delighted with her swirly dress. It was my favorite photo of the wedding. We managed to please the bride with a 20 page book. Check wedding photography.

We have been traveling all of this year and our journey has provided so many wonderful locations. For something different I have chosen an image taken with a drone as my favorite. The photo was taken at Cape Palmerston beach on the Queensland coast of Australia at low tide. I have been amazed at how the photos from above show such a different view. I have really enjoyed being part of this challenge. It has been a great learning experience, and I have enjoyed seeing and learning from all of your photos each week. I look forward to seeing you in the Critique Group next year. Thanks Ricky and a Happy New Year and Best Wishes to everyone for 2023.

Does it count that your favorite photo is your favorite place that you took a photo? I had to select one of my Lake Louise photos because it was such an awesome vacation …one that was postponed because of the pandemic. Very thankful that we could finally travel to such a beautiful location!

This week my son and daughter came home for the Chritmas holidays. Although they are now grown up, they are still happy to wake us up early in the morning to share some precious moments opening presents. My year word is FAMILY.

This week’s challenge (for me) is “Fill”. Filling the frame and filling the moment. High school days of scouring the yards and crossroads for wild roses (and other flowers) to leave at Carole’s homeroom desk or doorstep are in the distant past. It took some interesting contortions to fill the frame with this last rose of the season. It resides outside her sewing room and is a warm reminder of earlier years. We remain remarkably blessed. Wishing you (and yours) continued warmth and blessings in the coming week(s).

This is a photo of a house I bought at World Market for last year's holiday shoot. I Layered it on a background that I got from Jai Johnson at Daily Texture. https://www.dailytexture.com/) She gave this background to her users for free. I added a snow layer from Photography BB Marketplace and added a Style Texture to the text. I added the Antique Deckled frame from ON1 Effects.

Happy Chanukah (starts tomorrow night) and Merry Christmas to all. Let there be Peace on Earth and let it begin with me...

Laying in the freshly fallen snow post snow angel making! Taken with my cell phone. I've been absent from submitting photos for quite awhile with no good excuse. But I couldn't let the year go by without my annual Elf making an appearance, even though sans tutu this year. I wish everyone a joyous, peaceful holiday season!!

I treasure taking my daily walks outside. It’s not always possible during a Minnesota winter though. If there’s no ice on the condo driveway or sidewalks, I bundle up and head out. The blue spruce in the background is one of my favorite trees.

Week 48, Blue, NotSky

Bill says:

An old diner with a blue sign and a blue ’55 Chevy Nomad parked in front. This was primarily an exercise in editing to try to create a 50s color film look with a closed in feeling from the darkness, but inviting light from the diner.
Photo was taken in daylight, but edited in PS and LR using levels and exposure adjustments for a nighttime look. Then edited to the 50s film look based on a YouTube video that included decreased sharpness, grain, yellow highlights and increased shadows. The film look was more obvious with daytime lighting, but some of the effect was still apparent in the final “night” photo. The photo was also given a mild Orton Effect in PS (26 pixels/15% opacity).
