URGENT Call For Rhapsody themed quilts!

Attention all Rhapsody quilters! As you know, Ricky’s Rhapsody Quilt book is scheduled for release this Fall. However, Ricky has also agreed to do six supplements to go along with the book. The publisher has very tight deadlines for the first two supplements. We need images of your work right away for the first Rhapsody supplement. The book supplements will be released in 2008, but of course, production happens well in advance.

TOP PRIORITY!

We are urgently looking for Rhapsody quilts that incorporate Feathers and Urns for the first supplement. We need to have images of finished quilts or quilts in progress here by Tuesday the 24th of April. The finished quilt must be photographed by us in August, Therefore, the image you send can be incomplete, but please don’t send the photo if your quilt will not be finished by August 1st.

Others may consider sending images for the second supplement which will be focused on Baskets and Flowers. Due date for sending images of finished quilts or quilts in progress is July 1. Those quilts need to be completed for photography by November 1.

Additional upcoming themes are:

1)  Celtic designs,

2)  Southwestern themes and

3)  Ancient wonders/ Ancient civilizations using petroglyphic images – Aztec, Anasazi, Aboriginal, Mayan, Haida… any ancient civilization.

So, if you are working on, or have plans to make a Rhapsody quilt – get busy, and keep these themes in mind and we will let you know when we need images for those supplements.

RHAPSODY QUILT CALENDAR PROJECT ALSO UNDERWAY

We also are producing a Rhapsody Quilt Calendar for 2008, and need Rhapsody quilts of any theme submitted for consideration as soon as possible. The quilt may still be in progress when you submit the image, but you must be able to get it finished and to us for photography no later than June1, 2007.

QUILTERS ON BIKES UPDATE

The Quilters on Bikes event is not an organized rally as such. However we would like to have an idea of who is coming – so email gallery@rickytims.com and let us know. There are details about this event at www.rickytims.com. We will meet and lineup to be in the town parade, which is happening on Saturday June 30, the weekend before the 4th of July. You'll note that the 4th of July is on a Wednesday this year, so the parade and events are the weekend before. :-) On Friday night we have a show opening but there is also a rodeo in town. On Saturday night, riders are invited to a private gallery party at Tims Art Quilt Studio where you will see the works of Carol Ann Sinnreich from Oklahoma. She specializes in Western and Southwestern themed quilts.

RICKY'S QUILTS TO BE ON DISPLAY IN LA VETA!

Put on your calendars to make a trip to La Veta sometime between Friday evening May 25th for the opening of Ricky Tims: Selected Works at the Tims Art Quilt Gallery. This is a very special show to see as we seldom have the opportunity to display Ricky’s quilts at the gallery. His seminar and travel schedule, along with other galley exhibitions keeps him from having his quilts on display here. Since admission to the gallery is free, it is an excellent chance to see his work! They are truly incredible. Spread the word! Bring a friend!

THE QUILT SHOW

Most of you will know by now that Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson are hosting a new “TV show” on the internet. For all the details regarding the world’s first full service interactive website visit: www.thequiltshow.com.

KALEIDOSCOPE UPDATE

Sorry for the delay in the production of the Kaleidoscope video, but the Quilt Show has really taken production time away from this project. It has not been cancelled, just had to be put on hold.

UPCOMING GOODIES AND EVENTS

Ricky has designed a new line of commercial fabrics (releasing at Spring Market) with Red Rooster Fabrics. Also releasing is a new line of thread with Superior Threads called Ricky Tims’ Art Studio. These threads will coordinate with a new line of embroidery designs for Rhapsody lovers. Are you tired yet?

Ricky’s Quilts are also going to be on display at the Museum of the American Quilters Society in Paducah Kentucky (4 Guys and Their Quilts) that will run from May 16 to August 12.
