Happy New Year !
Here’s hoping that 2003 will be bright and full of joy for all you!

 Autumn Rock: 1^st part of New Quilting Haven 
Our “vision” for creating a beautiful get-a-way for quilters has passed it’s first critical milestone.  On Thursday, December 5, Ricky & Justin purchased forty acres of “Heaven” in Southern Colorado.  It is nestled in a spectacular, undeveloped valley surrounded by mountains on three sides. There is a tremendous variety of flora and fauna as well as unique geological features throughout.  We have named the property “Autumn Rock”.  Autumn, in tribute to Ricky’s most notable quilt, “Songe d’Autumne”.  Rock, because of the giant, one hundred foot tall rock outcropping which is undoubtedly the grandest and most recognizable feature in whole valley.  If you are interested in seeing photos of Autumn Rock, then go to http://www.rickytims.com/Autumn Rock Main Gallery.htm and scroll down to view pictures.  Click on the thumbnails to view larger images. 

This of course is the first step in creating this wonderful Quilting Haven.  Hopes and dreams continue to develop daily with the next step – the “compound”. Well ok, not really a compound, but at least a place where Ricky can accommodate up to 10 quilters.  We will of course keep you updated; same “bat-time”; same “bat-channel”. 

Travels: La Conner, WA; Renton, WA, Ontario, CA; Denver, CO

Good-bye 2002; hello 2003.  Well, Ricky said good-bye to 2002 with a quick trip to the Lakeview Quilt Guild in Nassau Bay, TX.  Ricky would like to extend his thanks to those who made the trip so wonderful.   

This month, Ricky will be traveling to the LaConner Quilt Museum in La Conner, Washington followed with a brief jaunt to Renton, WA.  Immediately upon returning to Arvada, Ricky and Justin will load the trailer and head to Ontario, CA for “Road to California”.  Returning to Colorado, Ricky then visit the Colorado Quilt Council in Denver, CO. 

Simply Quilts:HGTV’s Simply Quilts with Alex Anderson
While in California for “Road to California”, Ricky will be  filming an episode of “Simply Quilts” with Alex Anderson for cable’s  HGTV.  The episode will be on Ricky’s “Quilting Caveman Style”.  Although the exact date of airing is not known at this time, it is believed that it will be sometime in the fall.  Once a date is scheduled, we will let you know.    

DVD's & VHS:Ricky's Quilting techniques available soon
”Quilting Caveman Style and Fishing” is almost completed.  There was a delay in manufacturing and now looks like it should be completed sometime in February.  We apologize for the delay and know that some of you are anxiously awaiting it’s release.  For those of you who purchased the videos at Houston, don’t despair, it is coming.
