New
Internet Store Additions : Razzle DazzleTM Decorative
Threads and Mini-Spiral Fabrics
The
Ricky Tims Internet store has two new additions – Razzle DazzleTM and Mini
Sprials.
Superior Threads, Inc,., introduces
Razzle DazzleTM
by Ricky Tims.
This new thread is an
8 Wt., polyester decorative thread, designed for a number of projects: bobbin
work, couching, fringe, knitting, embellishments, serging, weaving, and bead
work.
Also new this
month, Tims Internet Store introduces the new Mini-Spiral
fabrics. The larger spirals were
such a hit last year, that the guys are introducing the new smaller spiral
design fabrics. Each mini-sprial,
is approximately 22-1/2” x 22-1/2” and just like the other Caveman fabrics
and larger spirals, each mini-spiral is a one-of-a-kind.
They will continue to produce the larger spirals as well, but currently
that page is empty. If you’re
interested in the larger spials, keep checking back periodically to see what’s
available.
New
Quilt :
Glen Eyrie Castle
Ricky has completed a new,
mid-sized commission quilt titled Glen
Eyrie Castle. This quilt depicts
the castle at Glen Eyrie where the Rocky
Mountain Quilt Retreat is held each October.
Utilizing Ricky’s technique of Scribble Applique, the quilt has a much
more textural feel than standard raw-edge appliqué.
Incorporating his hand-dyed fabrics, the quilt was made from a photograph
of the castle and the castle grounds. Using
a photo-editing software, Ricky has brought the grounds in around the castle
creating a quilt which imbues the experience of Rocky Mountain Quilt Retreat and
the neighboring Garden of the Gods park.
Photo
Shoot :
American
Patchwork & Quilting
In
early March, American Patchwork & Quilting sent a photo team to La Veta to compose and shoot some
of Ricky’s quilts for an upcoming article.
Of course, it hadn’t snowed for about a month, so you know, when the
team arrived, what did it do? It
snowed! Many of the photos
were taken in and around the house, but the trip up to Autumn Rock had to be
nixed. Everybody was really hoping
to get some photos of Ricky’s quilts up at the rock.
Oh well maybe next time. The
article should be in one of the late summer issues.
Autumn
Rock :
Architectural Plans
For
those of you interested in the progress of Autumn Rock, there isn’t much more
to tell you which is different from the last Gazette. The
guys expect to hear next Wednesday on the status of the loan.
If the loan is approved, then papers can be signed and the long awaited
construction can begin. More next
month.
